CONSTRUCTION DEPARTMENT
Samsun University Kavak Vocational School Construction Department was established with the letter of YÖK Executive Board dated 09.09.1995 and YÖK Approval letter dated 02.10.1995 and numbered 2080-19658.
Degree Earned
This department is subject to a 120 ECTS credit first stage degree system in the field of Construction Technology and Building Inspection programs in higher education. Upon successful completion of the Construction Technology and Building Inspection programs and providing the program qualifications, an associate degree is obtained in the field.

Candidates must have a high school or equivalent school diploma and have received sufficient points from the YKS-Higher Education Institutions Exam. Candidates are placed with their TYT scores.

In order to obtain an associate degree in Construction Department – Construction Technology Program and Building Inspection Program; students must successfully complete all of the compulsory and elective courses (a total of 120 ECTS) required to take in the program, complete 30 working days of Industry-Based Education, and have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Program Profile
The educational aim of Samsun University Kavak Vocational School Construction Department-Construction Technology Program and Building Inspection Program is to train technical staff with knowledge and skills who can produce and implement projects in construction companies that produce goods/services in the construction sector, architectural offices, companies that make applications on the construction site, concrete plants, insulation companies, related public institutions and organizations.

Transition to Senior Programs
Candidates who have successfully completed their associate degree education can study in undergraduate programs if they get a valid grade from the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) and are placed by OSYM.
Exams, Assessment and Evaluation
In order for each student to register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and take the final exam, they must attend at least 70% of the courses and at least 80% of the practices. Students are subjected to at least one midterm and final exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam (the scores obtained from measurement tools such as homework, laboratory exam, quiz, etc.) to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points.
Graduation Requirements
In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to pass all the courses available in the program (120 ECTS equivalent), to achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and to successfully complete the Industry Based Education (internship).

Samsun University Kavak Vocational School has Construction Department / Construction Technology Prpgram and Building Inspection Program and provides formal education. There are 5 permanent lecturers working in the program. In the Construction Technology program; Computer-aided drawing and design are made, Examples of building materials are examined, Building materials are used in buildings, Technical visits are organized to construction sites.
